Forum Achievements & Levels

Not sure what names you would give them but I think it would be cool to have level bars and possible achievements on the forums, since the Kingdoms of Amalur is all based off of RPGs which typically have these things.

And you will see that instead of people posting and getting something like a new title at 200 posts, you could have a level bar.

Just under the avatar is the list of achievements people have been granted. You can get them for posts, for tags, for quotes, for having people +1 your posts or giving rep and another things.

Nothing here is needed but it is something that would be cool to have and could set you far apart from any other potential similar forums.

We have actually intentionally omitted leveling, reputation, and ranking systems from our forums, as they tend to encourage superfluous posting and contribute to the arbitrary stratification the membership. We want to make sure that the opinion of someone with 5 posts is considered as valuable as someone with 5000. The idea here is that you can build your reputation the old-fashioned way, by being an active contributory member of the forums.

All that stuff can definitely be fun, but it's not really what we are going for here, right now. I have considered adding a thanks/+1 system to recognize helpful posts, but it wouldn't be tied into any official reputation system. It would just be a way to give someone props for their contribution.
