You give them consumables that do the same thing. You put them on NPC vendors for ten times the price it costs for players to craft them.

    Voila.

Could use scrolls, charged wands, vials, books, totems, whatever. And none of this "it costs 1000 platinum per scroll" foolishness. No, you let players craft them in stacks, sell them from the NPC vendors in big stacks so people can put those big stacks on their hotbar and want to use it as a huge gold sink! If it's inexpensive and effective, players will use it.

Magical item use; It works for Faerūn/Toril, it can work for Amalur!

Well when I say fireball I mean the inherent ability to use magical abilities. If a particular playable race cannot use magic, what can they do from a lore perspective to be on par with the others? I know that it can range from strength to agility, just curious about the approach and what the lore team decided to go with.

The magic is imbued into the item at item creation. The non-magic wielder reads, uses, or in some other way interacts with the object to release the stored magic. Non-magic races want to cast fireballs? They read a fireball scroll and point their hand.

It may not be "the" way they're going to explain it, but it is "a" way.

Whelp, there's gunpowder in the Age of Arcana it seems... Just got done blowing up some walls with explosives... Wonder what that means for the future as far as Copernicus goes

Could you go into more detail Dub? Use a spoiler tag if needed, thanks. I'm still just outside of Odarath on my main playthrough so I haven't done that many quests.

Like I said in the podcast, I'm not okay with the technology of Copernicus being that much different than Amalur. I don't know if it's a deal breaker for me, but I'll certainly take the game a lot less seriously.
