Thread: KoA 2?

    KoA 2?

Will they make a sequel any time soon?

Well the game just came out last month so it's going to be a while before we see a second RPG, according to a few articles and interviews a sequel is in their plans. There will be DLC to play in the meantime.

We all know Curt wants to see a sequel along with books, comics, action figures and the whole bunch. But for a KoA:R 2 it largely depends on how well it sold and if EA sees the promise for a second one.

In the interview we did with Michael Fridley it was made pretty clear, with a wick and nudge that a KOA2 or at least a second solo game is being worked on. However before we worry about a full sequal I would like to see how they handle DLCs. This game is good enough that we should see at least 3 or maybe even 4 DLCs before we need to worry about a sequel.

I haven't finished the game, as of yet, so this might be obvious to others here, but I'd be curious about what the setting for a second game would be...and would it continue the story of The Fateless one, or jump forward? Would it be set in the time of the MMO, or between that and the time of the first game? *runs off to read up on Amalur lore*

Actually, after finishing the game, I have no more insight to what the next game could than what I had before beating it. They can go in a lot of different directions. Maybe sending the fateless one to another part of Amalur.

Earliest KOA2 will release is late 2013/early 2014.

Frankly I hope that there isn't a direct sequel to Reckoning and that it's a completely different game altogether. Although, I have a feeling we're going to be stuck playing Reckoning sequels a few times so they get some use out of the engine.
