    Forum charisma

Forums for any given game or guild develop their own personality. I learned long ago to avoid all game forums, this predates even WoW. People are just uninformed, nasty, and downright mean. My philosophy of gameplay was that I purchased the game to play it, not to surf the net to read about it. This philosophy while still mostly true, doesn't apply lately as I am between main games.

I have since discovered that there are a few godlen nuggets of forums out there that manage to avoid most of the mudslinging and flaming. I have discovered that the main Reckoning forums, for the amount of people on it is generally above par when compared to all other game forums out there that I have been looking at for the last 6 months to a year. I have also discovered that things are nicely kept on an even keel over here and I find it quite enjoyable to participate in both forums.

As a counterpoint, I've chased links to other places, GW, SW:TOR, FoH, oh and that HUGE one that Curt was directed too a few months back. Those places gave me the feel of crawling through the sewers; that's not a bad thing if you are looking for an innovative way to enter a dungeon in a game, but in reality its less than desirable personally.

My thanks for providing one of that rare islands in an ocean of flames.

He's an ogre, you can't expect much class.

Yes, over the years, these forums have provided a much needed calmness given the target demographic.

IMO, the official forums were quite bad right before and right after the launch of Reckoning. During the recent Dead Kel DLC, again, more badness. I guess people just want to vent most of the time, and due to the lack of other options, they feel venting on the official forums is the way to go.

You can figure out how good or bad the official forums are by how fast my post count is going up.

Lol, rate of post counts correlate to a percieved "ideal" ? I suppose that works.

Well I didn't mention me posting more meant the forums were friendlier, or if me posting more meant the forums were getting nasty.
