To put that into perspective (and from a history education that I'm quickly forgetting), 10,000 years is longer than our own Human recorded history.

Cave paintings in France = recorded history and they are dated at 25k or better. Still, it is a decent amount of time and they already had the timeslot picked, then they found a good spot for the RPG to fit into.

If you look at each period on Amalur.com's timeline they are all presented in a way that could support a game or maybe novels in the future.

Oh I know I was strictly talking about Reckoning 2 or whatever BHG decides to do.

Salvatore has stated that repeatedly, but on Amalur.com, there is only 5,000 detailed, so I want to assume that the rest is pre-history unless the events before the Deep Gloam are revealed. Otherwise, if we compare it to our world, recorded human history began around 3700 BC with the invention and use of cuneiform although humans were around much longer than that, possibly up to millions of years so depending on when you want to point as "the beginning". In any case, the history of Amalur could be as extensive as our own even when comparing these slices since they are the same amount of time, but I do not believe it will be so. I do believe that it could have a more detailed history than some real world countries because Forgotten Realms has claimed that achievement already so any fantasy realm could do so.

I just hope some info gets released asap on Copernicus, and I do hope Copernicus comes out before R2. It would send a bad message to the masses of people that read tea leaves and between the lines. How BHG (a purchased company) was aquired to introduce Amalur to gamers. But, their add-on company is in fact more productive and successful than the main company. Proven by the release of 2 full games and numerous DLC's (by BHG) prior to even official word being given out about the MMO <which is the whole purpose of 38S being in existance>.

Well if only 5000 or so is written then it's just shy of our own written history if you're saying 3700 BC. That means that our own written history is only 700 years more than Amalur.

Everything I have heard indicates that the MMO will be a 1000 years beforehand. Can you cite some links to indicate 2000 years http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/44283/kingdoms-of-amalur-reckoning-mmo-rpg

It's 2000 years after Reckoning during the Age of Heroes.

Unlike Reconing, Project Copernicus is a massively-multiplayer online game set some 2,000 years after the happenings of Reckoning.

The game itself (Reckoning) is set 2,000 years before the MMO at what is certainly one of the most pivotal moments in the world’s history.
