    Two points.

    1) That example is bad because that absolutely should've been taken into consideration. They should've made it a huge priority to ensure that you can't break the Main Quest at all doing as many things as possible to try and break the progression. After all, that's one of the big points of the game is to complete the Main Quest.

    2) I'll say the game is -mostly- polished. There's definitely some rough edges out there as there was one quest I auto-failed despite the fact that I did the first three prereq quests correctly and had everything in place to progress forward. And I'm not the only one that happened to.

Besides, all of Detyre is pretty bland due to the fact that if you play the game the way they want you to play it, you already outlevel all of the content. WTF is that about?

I agree, but things happen. Limited budget and all that jazz. What I'm saying is, they did a good job prioritizing what got tested and what didn't.

There's nothing open world about Reckoning. Especially since the game punishes you for following your own path with disjointed questlines, or you outlevelling entire regions worth of monsters.
He said "guided" before anyone had a hands-on demo, so it couldn't have been back-peddling. If you want to say it was absolving them of problems early on because they knew it wasn't truly open-world, that's fine and I'll tentatively agree.

I still think that guided open-world is a valid statement to make though, because that's exactly what it is. It guides you in a direction, but you're free to run off in any order you'd like.

In the article he talked about not having enough time to figure out the density of their content stating that they made "too much game" and wanted to flesh out the main quest a lot more.
