Exclusive to one race tho? Lets hope not, unless there is a newly discovered race that comes with new teachings and a unique class. They would have to balance them in regards to desirability, you dont want 80% of the population clamoring to be one god like race. Or shunned and never played because they are too weak or lacking in other areas. Risky business either way.
Yet there should always be one race that is more suited to a class than others might be with the traditional view of humans being the most versatile.

Youth and talent are no match for age and treachery.
I agree Malikai it would make no sense to see a Kolloasse being a rogue and a little gnome being a tank. So in that regard I'm hoping there will be some restrictions of classes/races combinations.
Although there are other interesting discussion going on here, I will keep to the thread title about classes we want to see and the other mechanics discussions can either reopen older threads on this discussion or new ones opened I suppose.
I suppose this is where having the ability to have more than one spec available would be a good ask for the classes. One for solo/support and one for group or something like that. This way, you could have a fighter for soloing and/or easier content and a healer for harder group content. I would also want a clearly defined role since there are going to be classes anyway. I do like customization, but I also appreciate being able to know what to expect from the other classes when making a group without the surprise of getting a divine damage dealer instead of a healer or a DPS fighter instead of a tank. I would rather see hybrid classes instead.

SK was my first true MMO love. Give me a anti hero type class, (preferably with a "monstrous" player race), and I will be thrilled. I'd even like to see some class + race exp penalties ala pre-nerf Troll SK, (Yes removing the exp penalties was a nerf in my eyes), to offset some nice abilities.
I agree with you on the SK and monstrous race. I know it existed as a counter-point to Paladin so they made them evil, but I would have liked to see a neutral version of the SK myself like an Arcane Warrior or something so I could play one on either side. I don't mind having certain classes being tied to factions or races as long as it makes sense to the world and is not a arbitrary decision. I personally enjoy the anti-hero or possible evil side of things, but I usually end up being a good guy because there seems to be fewer jerks to be found on that side of the fence.

A buff bot (shaman) or a true rogue more that just DPS.
Don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but I would like to see a puller class or two. I loved feigning death to split groups of mobs with my monk in EQ. Give me the chance and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

For me it is less about a class I want to see, would love to see BTW a real Paladin class, and more about the way the classes interact. I would love to see them make real differences in the classes, the homogenous class system used by other MMOs today is lame to me. I want a healer to heal and do not expect it to be able to tank and offer DPS. I expect an archer to be great at range but only fair in ahnd to hand and not be able to tank. I expect mages to have power attacks and neat support powers but they are not as fast in combat and squishy if they are undefended.
I could go on but I think you gte my point. To many games today for the sake of "balance" end up maiing all classes have all powers to various degress, screw that crap. Would also like to see this done with races. Each race should have a reason to play them over another and at the same time as having a bonus should have a disadvantage as well, real ones not meaningless tripe that vanishes by level 3.
