I had no idea Minecraft had this type of gameplay. Then again, I played it in early beta and just made a house.
The End is basically the main (only?) "quest" in Minecraft, and it requires a bit of farming. I can't tell you how many days I was camped out at night for Endermen to try to get Ender Pearls, gosh...
Also, I thought the original plan was for Saturday but I'm fine with tomorrow; my only request is that people try to be on time because I have to leave an hour and a half after our meet up time and who knows how long it'll take us to slay the dragon!

Raid Description
The Ender Dragon lives in a separate zone known as The End. It's a sandy plane covered in large obsidian pillars. The dragon flies around these towers using them to heal itself. There are also lots of endermen roaming around.
After the dragon is killed, it drops thousands of experience, a dragon egg and a portal back to the Overworld spawns. The egg has no purpose other than acting as a trophy/decoration.
Raid Strategy
A bed should be placed in the Overworld next to our End portal, that way if somebody dies they can get back quickly.
To avoid being attacked by the endermen that will surround us, do not place your crosshairs on them. If you are attacked by an enderman, try to slash their lower legs. They are less inclined to teleport away if you aren't looking at their upper body.
The dragon gets healed by crystals that are on top of the pillars, so it's a waste of time to fight him until they are dealt with. I'll supply ladders that we can climb these pillars with. Once you reach the top of one, it's advised to destroy the crystal with a bow and arrow, because the crystals will explode and knock you back. If there are other nearby pillars, try to shoot their crystals so that we don't have to climb all of them.
Once all of the crystals are destroyed, it will be time to fight the dragon. Use your bows or slash at him when he swoops by. Hitting his head does extra damage. If an arrow hits the dragon on one of his silver areas, it will bounce off.
Save Amalur!
I don't think an hour and a half is a good amount of time to do this. We may run into unforeseen issues or just be really bad at the event in general. It doesn't look like our schedules match up this weekend. Might need to try for next week.
To be safe we should find a time that everyone can commit around three hours to. Maybe I'll start another thread and do a poll.
P.S. Raid strategy is one post above this one!

Well, I wish I had realized sooner I had other plans, that's my fault. I'm willing to go for as long as I can then bow out to make it to my commitment in time if this is the only time available.
If everyone is willing to reschedule that'd be AWESOME, but I'm not expecting it. I can definitely do Saturday EST any time after 7pm if people can. Don't have any other plans the rest of the week so I'm pretty flexible. I'm gone the 11th-15th EST though.
Ladders may take too long, I think we're all better off having 4-5 stacks of cobb, towering ourselves up to the proper height, getting the crystal, then pickaxe our tower down to the ground. We could try both methods though.

We can do it wherever.

Good point. Dirt would be even faster and I have lots of it. Already made ladders so we'll have both options.
I'm in no hurry to do this, so I don't care how long we wait. I'm just excited to do something as a guild. You probably put the most work into this, so you have to be there when the dragon dies! =P

Tonight is going to end up being bad for me as well (going to see the Avengers). But that means I will be around tomorrow afternoon/evening as far as I know.
Oh and as an aside I have a large chest full of full stacks of cobblestone.

Heh ok, the dragon-spanking will wait!
Let me know how the Avengers is Narria! It's one of the few movies I've been interested in seeing but will have to wait until I'm back stateside.
