    EA destroying gaming.

    Article

I seen this coming a long time ago. I wonder if more developers will be speaking out against EA or will this backfire on Markus Persson. Time will tell. My own choice is not to buy EA products or purchase thru them, DA:O was the final straw buying thru EA and was a bad enough experience. I still have a spare copy of DA:O in the unopened shipping box, an order that I cancelled the order and still received it (free ofcourse).

They are no different from most other publishers in any field (film, music, etc.) and what I find the real issue is that the era of mega-publishing companies are starting to decline after many years of dominating our entertainment although mega-corporations that control the other aspects of our lives are on the rise.

    Cool

I have no love for EA, nor Sony, nor any software company that treats its customers like dirt.

But I have been, and always will be, of the opinion that all software should be free. And I mean free as in "here's a free beer!", not free as in "you may now exercise your free speech, citizen!"

    As in zero dollars.

But humanity isn't there yet. So we suffer!

I'm also of the opinion that a molecular copy of a work of art has precisely the same value as the original, which is often a controversial subject at mealtimes. heheh.

Oh look, the circlejerk of hating on Ea has even spread here. Do you guys remember about two years ago when Activision was "destroying gaming"?

Gamers and so self-entitled and elitist.

Also just a final point, one you should ALL care about. Without EA Reckoning wouldn't have been made. Sooooooo evil right?

LOL, I agree with you RingX55.

Look, I may hate some of what EA does, but they paid me 3 months of salary when they laid me off. They didn't have to do that, and that's one of the most generous separation packages I've gotten.

I take a dim view of all entities that get that large. This could include banks, the bloated US govt, entertainment industry corperations, or even sports franchises that can afford to BUY their yearly success. So yeah, EA has treated the customer poorly in the name of the almighty dollar, I still can't seperate them from all the other zealots (mega-corperations) that are doing the same thing.

For the record, I don't hate any game company. Not to say that some of the negative press isn't deserved, but I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of it is being fueled by competitors to stir the people up. It has happened before.

If EA not ventured in the retail side of things and stuck to production they might have kept that solid reputation they had for great games. They already had below average customer support and when they decided to start selling their own products, all other quality they had build started failing them. I dont hate EA, I just chose not to buy thru them or even thru Origin anymore. Who knows the motivation this guy came up with to make such a statement, ask him why he hates EA and dont forget to add RUMADBRO?

@Ringx, if you know what a circlejerk is, you've prolly been to 1 too many.
