With the upcoming unveiling of 38 Studios' new IP and first game, our small community is filling with curiosity and excitement. Soon, we will move out of the realm of vagaries and wild speculation, into a dialog based around specificities and actual expectations. If you are anything like me, your head is spinning with questions. If it isn't now, it certainly will be after July 22nd.
In anticipation of the pending deluge of inquiry, 38 Studios' founder and chairman, Curt Schilling has offered to participate in a Q&A with 38 Watch, in which he will answer some of our questions, regarding the launch of 'Project Mercury' (we will be able to ditch that name soon) and the massive world that will set the stage for the 'Copernicus' MMO. Feel free to submit your questions, in this thread, and we will do our best to cover what we can. The official Q&A thread will be posted after the unveiling of Project Mercury, so you will have plenty of time to submit your Mercury-specific questions, as well.
I am hoping that this first official 38 Watch Q&A will serve as a proper starting point, as we begin to navigate through the new information. I also hope that this will be the first of a series of Q&A sessions, with the wildly talented crew at 38 Studios and Big Huge Games. So fire away Watchers; this is the beginning of the payoff. Get excited!

Hello friends, both old and new.
I’d like to welcome you (back?) to 38 Watch, the Unofficial 38 Studios Fan Forums. Those of you veteran members may notice a few changes, namely the complete lack of any and all previous content. Some of you may be aware of the circumstances surrounding the destruction of the Old Watch, and delving into the ugly details at this point would serve no practical purpose. I will just say that I was burned pretty badly by an unreliable collaborator, and I have learned some valuable lessons in the process.
But enough of my problems, let’s talk about The Watch! You will notice that these forums have been dubbed ‘temporary.’ That is because I am using a temporary software solution, in order to continue to serve the needs of our community, while I prepare (read: procure funding) for our return to the vBulletin platform. I am really excited by some of the blogging and community features offered by vB4 and I think you folks will be impressed by the possibilities for collaboration and expression.
In the meantime, feel free to dive in. I’ve maintained the original forum structure for familiarity’s sake. You can trust that all forum content is being backed-up and archived, in order to safeguard against future cataclysmic events. As always, your feedback is encouraged; this is your community, after all.
I’d like to thank all of you who have voiced your support over the last few weeks! This whole thing has been a frustrating mess, and were it not for the encouragement and support of this community, I probably would have just thrown in the towel. Thanks for reminding me of the importance of our unique community. I’m genuinely excited about our future travels together!
Cheers,
Union.
