RE: EVE Online
I go on an EVE jag about twice a year, but I can never seem to stick with it, long-term. I really enjoy the depth and freedom, but I've never been personally invested enough to hang through the downtime. I have been considering a resub, as my guild has recently decided to expand their borders into other games, starting with EVE. Perhaps, playing with friends will give me the impetus to soldier on. I am interested in checking out some of the more recent changes.

RE: EVE Online
EVE is okay. What pisses me off about the game is that you get very little actual character growth via playing the game. You're better off not playing the game @ $15 a month to grow your character. It's just... backwards.

RE: EVE Online
Have some dev friends who consider it to be the pinnacle of online gaming. I haven't really gotten that involved with it. I'm more of a high fantasy guy myself.

RE: EVE Online
I pretty much always keep my Eve account active so that when I'm not in the mood to actually play I can do as Nybling suggests and progress.
The problem with Eve is that your participation is rewarded in money and not character growth. Nothing you do can progress your character faster. Money, however, can make a bigger difference than most people let on as you get higher up. It is all still passive though. You rarely, if ever, notice a huge jump in power other than when you swap from tech 1 to tech 2 in some cases. I love the game because you can fail. I love it because it is completely open. I'd love it more if someone made the same thing without the open PVP aspect. I'm fine with alliance/corps fighting and killing each other. I just wish they'd leave me alone =) Epic Slant Putting the O back in Pwn |

Considering the fact that CCP said no major changes are coming to EVE for a while. They're working on other things. Still no word on the World of Darkness MMO though. |

RE: EVE Online
I saw that, yes. The last council's write up was not stellar to say the least.

RE: EVE Online
Quite possibly the most boring piece of trash I have ever tried. Shiny as all hell, but boring. 1 click to pretty much do everything about had me slicing my wrists in record time.
