Obviously that dwarf was named after you. You should have challenged him to a fight to the death or a drinking contest.

It was one of the many times I've yearned for the EQ days of attackable NPC's.

Also to your point, EQ drunk animation > LOTRO drunk animation.

I'm getting too nostalgic.

What is your favorite non-work related aspect of working at 38 Studios. For example coworkers, location, hours, benefits, refrigerator... ect.

And if you feel compelled (really if you are uncomfortable that is ok), what is your least favorite aspect.

These are easy and no secret. Yes Munch

My favorite aspect is, without a doubt, my coworkers. Curt is very focused on the idea that everything depends on people, without whom you have nothing -- not a baseball team, not a game company, not a AAA hit. As a result, the people at 38 are all absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is tremendously positive.

My least favorite aspect is my commute, since I commute from southern MA to the studio which is northwest of Boston. Takes me about an hour each way, if traffic cooperates (it usually doesn't). I've mitigated the pain of commuting somewhat with audiobooks, which help pass the time. It's interesting, though: while I certainly wouldn't say I like my commute, it doesn't really bother me, either. Not when I know what's at either end of it (my awesome job, or my fiancee and home).

And yes, the company moving to Providence would shorten my commute by a not-insignificant amount.

It's hard not to enjoy your work at a game company unless you work for Emperor Kot... er.. Palpatine.

When I worked at EA our breakrooms had 360s, PS3s and Wiis with games galore. Then there was the catering in... mmm... Boston Market. Then there's the fact that most people are pretty laid back. All these things (plus more) equal a fun working environment. Work still has to be done, of course, but there was never a day I woke up and said, "Damn I want to call in sick."

Only called out once and that was due to really being sick. Food poisoning or some such thing. Never have gone back to that restaurant, lol.
